Here are suggestions for how to arrange Sales/Fundraising meetings.

October 28, 2009

THIS IS THE E-MAIL I JUST SENT TO THE SALES TEAM:

Hey guys!

The Delivery wiki on myaiesec.net has been updated!!! Most of the forms required to do sales are included.

I have updated our UGA BD website with both the Delivery Handbook and all of these forms. READ the Delivery Handbook, paying special attention to the TIMELINE of how sales works. When they mention a form in the timeline, take a look at the form- as I said, most of the forms are also up on the website.

Recap from last night: Each "group" should have a goal of at least scheduling two sales meetings by November 3rd (2 weeks from yesterday). Remember, if some of your contacts are not responding to you, either take another approach to contact them, or just move on...don't spend weeks waiting for one person to contact you.

And, remember to update the CRM!

Thanks,
Sheila

PS. PLEASE PLEASE e-mail me with any and all questions that you may have. I've been providing you guys with all of the resources I have, but I can't know what you understand and what you're confused by unless you let me know and ask questions. Read everything on the website and let me know what you don't understand!

At Tuesday's meeting, we decided that we should work in pairs to generate leads/contacts and call/meet with companies. This way, you guys can motivate/help each other and make sure that you meet the deadlines.

A "checklist" can be found in the "Sales Tracker" section. I shared the google doc with all of you, so you should be able to open it. This checklist has deadlines on it, so make sure you pay attention to it!

Since Kole, Ngan, and Jia weren't at the meeting, I just randomly paired Stockton/Kole, and Ngan/Jia. Since Kole and Jia were both at the career fair, each group now has at least 10 leads from that. By next Tuesday, everyone needs to have called and followed up with at least 20 leads. In order to reach 20, you can use personal contacts, or you can start doing some cold calling. Here is the link for the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. It includes a directory of a lot of businesses in Metro Atlanta. Use the Cold Call Template (found in the "Sales Materials" section) and just start calling! Don't be worried about people not listening to you.

*Note that all goals are for each pair, not individual- so by Tuesday, each PAIR needs to have called and followed up with at least 20 leads/contacts.

*Make sure you update the CRM (which you all, except Steve, should have access to); and also fill in output forms- again, the CRM updating and output forms only need to be filled out once per pair.

*Keep in regular contact with your partner. All contact information can be found here

AT NEXT TUESDAY'S MEETING, WE WILL BE CONDUCTING "MOCK SALES MEETINGS" SINCE EACH PAIR NEEDS TO HAVE 2 MEETINGS BY 11/3/09. I WILL BRING THE PRINTED MATERIALS, BUT EVERYONE SHOULD LOOK OVER THE MATERIALS ONLINE BEFORE COMING SO THAT YOU ARE PREPARED. (SEE THE "SALES TRACKER" GOOGLE DOC FOR SPECIFIC INFO ABOUT MATERIALS.) I HAVE ALSO UPDATED THE FAQ, SO CHECK THOSE OUT.
